Embracing Change
Hope you are enjoying our bumper edition of My Weekly. I’ve done what we all do which is to flick through and get an overall impression, knowing I’m going to return and soak in properly everything our paper treasure box has to offer
Investment dressing
Well, after chatting a few weeks ago about plastering logos all over our clothes and accessories you can only imagine how glad I am to see a much larger article in our magazine which include some of those thoughts.
A Bumper Edition
A bumper edition, more pages of everything we love about My Weekly, what’s not to love? I always go straight to the recipes as I am constantly in search of dish inspiration. Some I follow to the letter, others, after gazing into the fridge have triggered my ‘Ready Steady Cook’ button. I like to think I’m the queen of making something out of seemingly nothing and get a tiny internal kick out of the challenge.
My Chest Costs!
My chest costs! I don’t mean the two little bags of silicon propping up my boobs, I mean it’s not there as a cheap advertising hoarding.
Last week I sat people watching in one of my favourite locations: Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.
Boxes of Memorabilia at My Parents
Joy of joys, thank you My Weekly for taking us back to the 1970’s. Born in 1960 I’m a decade baby and these were my teenage years of exploration into music, fashion and life which included the biggie boys.
Good Old British Summer
I know Cher wanted to turn back time but if I could stop for a while, it would be in the summer - and not the summer of a foreign holiday on a faraway beach - it would be our summer, our good old British summer! I love them.
How much do we all love a bumper issue?
How much do we all love a bumper issue? More of everything, and by the time you read this I’ll be on a plane clutching my mini-mag of travel fiction and can’t wait. I’m the ultimate beach reader, it’s my holiday pleasure and beyond happy under a parasol with my nose in a book.
Are you a space claimer?
Do you arrive at a beach or field survey the scene, take ages working out where base camp is going to be for you, your friends and family, then once decided set yourself up in the style of a nomadic Bedouin encampment and for the time you are there it’s like you’ve traded a land deal which you would guard with your life – Ok the last bit might be taking it a bit too far but you understand the emotion.
How do you read your copy of My Weekly?
Do you do what I do, as soon as I see it land on the matt,
I know, unlike other items of post, it’s a treat and like a child at Christmas I rip open the envelope and take my first flick through.
The To Do List
I’ve Just sat down all calm and happy with a cup of coffee and you, are top of my ‘Today List’ The reason for saying this is because yesterday had a mini melt down which you might relate to.
Beautifully Crocheted Blanket
I’m sitting here thinking which of all the things flitting through my mind am I going to pull out and share with you this week?
Staying Active
Over the last 10 days 2 of them have been sunny and bright, yes, I know only two but what a reaction those sunny hours had on us, like little flowers our faces were turning towards the beautiful yellow blob in the sky we took a moment and smiled.
How many times can we talk about decluttering?
How many times can we talk about decluttering? Well, every day in my book, it’s an essential part of our wellbeing tidy home, tidy mind, eradicate and radiate. I don’t know anyone who is focused yet has a light open ‘uncluttered’ mind with a healthy attitude to life and seems to get the best out of it who operates back at base camp (home) in chaos because it’s virtually impossible to achieve.
Coronation Edition of My Weekly
This is a major event for our country, viewed around the world and I’m lapping up everything I can. London is preparing itself and as I live in the centre of the action it would be criminal to miss out. Where I’m going to be on the route? I’m not sure, but the upside of it being shorter than our late Queen’s Coronation and funeral will make position decisions will be less complicated
‘Bucket List Holidays’
Our magazine this week is counting down to ‘Bucket List Holidays’ I’m not expecting to kick that one anytime soon but that doesn’t mean my mind never wanders there when it comes to travel. To be honest though, when I do have a little think about travel these days its coupled with not just location but the people, I want to share that with and funnily enough my sister and I have been discussing the very topic.
My fourth Emergency Service is a Local Independent Garage
Our Editor Stuart asked me this week if I had any tips on how to be smart with our finances, he said “I’m not talking about shopping in charity shops, and I know you’re not Martin Lewis just other bright ideas you might have?”
“Doesn’t time fly?”
Well the older I’ve become the more I’m convinced time has strapped itself to a supersonic jet. I honestly was telling a friend the other day Mark and I had been together for three years when in actual fact it’s four this July, and was it only Summer 2021 when I was going through the final drafts of my book ‘How To Age Well The Secrets’ while sitting in a hotel room in Santorini?
I’ve joined a Gym
I’ve joined a Gym; Not a fancy pants gym, no coffee bar, sofa, TV, swimming pool, sauna or social activities it’s just an inexpensive weights gym with one studio for classes.
One of the Best BAFTA’s On Record
After one of the best BAFTA’s on record with Alison Hammond smashing it in her presenting role both on stage and back stage chatting to stars together with Richard E Grant next come The Oscars.
A Much Needed Adventure
How often have you said, “What I need is a holiday” And by this you mean packing a bag, leaving the country and preferably heading to the sun for two weeks, returning restored with all your weary woes gone like magic?
