The Autumn Style Edit

Classic layers, cosy knits and a little Parisian inspiration taken from my recent trip.

There’s something rather lovely about autumn dressing. That moment when the summer wardrobe is packed away and the layers come out again. I’ve always loved this time of year for fashion. A good coat, a beautiful knit, a scarf or two (very on trend this year) and suddenly everything feels a little more pulled together.

After a recent weekend in Paris, I came home feeling particularly inspired. The French really do know how to make the simplest outfits look effortlessly chic. Scarves were everywhere! It reminded me that you don't necessarily need a whole new wardrobe each season, just a few clever additions to make old favourites feel new again.

So, here are a few things I'm loving and wearing this autumn.

1. The Trusty Trench

M&S | Pure Cotton Longline Trench Coat

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a trench coat. It's one of those wonderful wardrobe staples that never really dates, and I find myself reaching for mine year after year.

What I love most is how versatile they are. Throw one over jeans and a jumper, dress it up with heels or simply wear it open with a scarf. It always looks smart without trying too hard.

2. A Little Knit

ME+EM | Brushed Wool Shrunken Baby Tee in Camel

I do love a short-sleeved knit. They're perfect for those in-between days when it's not quite cold enough for a chunky jumper but you still want something cosy.

I have three favourites on rotation at the moment, two from M&S and one from ME+EM, all in lovely neutral shades.

This little brushed wool baby tee from ME+EM is just gorgeous. I love the camel colour, the simple shape and how easily it works with jeans or tailored trousers.

3. The Jean

Classic White Denim | With a Little Barrel-Leg Twist

I'm a great believer that white jeans aren't just for summer. In fact, I rather love wearing them through autumn with camel, chocolate brown and all those lovely warm neutral shades.

My usual go-to is a cropped jean, but I must admit I'm becoming quite partial to the barrel-leg shape. With the right footwear, I think they can look incredibly chic.

4. A Little Heel

Mango | Patent Leather Pointed-Toe Court Shoes

I've always loved a kitten heel. They give you that little bit of height and elegance without feeling too dressed up.

These patent pointed-toe shoes from Mango are just the thing to wear with cropped jeans or a barrel-leg style. There's something about a pointed toe that instantly makes an outfit feel a little more polished.

5. The Finishing Touch

Aspiga | Block Print Scarf in Cream & Chocolate

If there's one thing I took away from Paris, it's that a scarf can completely transform an outfit.

They were everywhere! Tied around necks, tucked into coats, draped over shoulders and even wrapped around handbags. Such a simple accessory, but what a difference it makes.

This cream and chocolate block-print scarf from Aspiga is just beautiful. The colours are perfect for autumn and it would work wonderfully with a camel knit and trench.

I love accessories that can breathe new life into pieces you already own, and a lovely scarf does exactly that.

6. Something Cosy for Colder Days

Aspiga | Merino Wool Fingerless Heart Gloves

Another little find from Aspiga that I couldn't resist!

These merino wool fingerless gloves are beautiful. Practical, cosy and with the sweetest heart detail. I particularly love the oat and burgundy colour combination.

I've long admired Aspiga for its approach to more responsible fashion, with an emphasis on natural materials, artisan craftsmanship and thoughtful production. It's lovely to discover accessories that feel special while also supporting a brand working towards more sustainable practices.

And fingerless gloves are wonderfully practical when you're out and about, especially when you need to use your phone!

7. When the Temperature Really Drops...

White Coco | Catherine Faux Fur Coat – AW26

And finally, when autumn turns into winter, there's nothing quite like a fabulous faux fur coat.

I absolutely love the Catherine coat from White Coco. It's one of those statement pieces that can make even the simplest outfit feel rather glamorous.

Wear it with jeans and a knit during the day or throw it over something dressier in the evening. A lovely bit of old-school glamour, which I'm always rather fond of.

It's also a wonderful alternative to real fur, without compromising on that cosy, luxurious feel.

Fabulous faux fur!

A Few Autumn Thoughts...

For me, autumn style isn't about chasing every new trend. It's about rediscovering the things you already love, investing in pieces that last and adding those little touches that make an outfit feel like you.

A beautiful scarf, a trusty trench, a soft knit and a good pair of jeans. Sometimes the simplest combinations are the best.

And after Paris, I shall certainly be making much more of my scarf collection!

Love, Anthea x
