Sultana Cakes

If you’re not a cake maker this is the recipe for you. My Mum used to make it back in the 60’s when we were little and the little cakes disappeared nearly as fast as she could pull them out of the oven! It also appears in Mary Berry’s AGA book.


4 Eggs
250g Soft Margarine
250g Caster Sugar
350g Self Raising Flour
4 Tablespoons Milk
350g Sultanas


Put all the ingredient except the sultanas into a bowl and beat for 2 minuets Then fold in the sultanas and poor into a lined baking try.

As you can see I’ve used a medium sized roasting tray measuring approximately 34 X 24 Pop in a baking temp oven mine is 180 and cook for 20 – 25 minutes Pull out cool down slice and watch is disappear.
