Love my extensions

December 11, 2014

My hair is short, choppy and difficult to do much with, but as the proud owner of fab hair extensions a whole new world of glamour has opened up to me. Plainly I can’t do this up do on my own so I have to go running along to Lino at Daniel Galvin London to be creative. what will make you laugh is the picture I took at the end of the evening. Forget Cinderella and her shoe my hair…

Liz Earle

December 5, 2014

Over the years I have listened and carried out the beauty advise of my friend Liz Earl. We first worked on GMTV together when Liz would regularly pop in with her finds and perils of wisdom none of which I’ve forgotten. In fact only this morning I’ve slathered Lanolin on my lips from what seems like the never ending pot because Liz says there’s nothing finer for keeping our lips kissable. Last week we had a girlie lunch and caught…

Organic beauty

November 14, 2014

A friend of mine Alan Mackenzie has created this beautiful new range called ‘Extra Care’ I have been a fan of Organic surge for many years their body and bath treatments I’m never without, they fall so easily into my Waitrose basket. This new range is fabulous for a dryer older skin and come in time for those of us who suffer in the winter from the effects of cold wind and dry central heating. Apart from the cleanser, which…

Salt

November 4, 2014

I never knew salt came in flavours but now I’m very glad I do. Cornish Sea Salt is hand harvested from the Atlantic Ocean, it’s not bleached and rich in minerals. Definitely the healthy choice when it comes to a pinch of salt. Working with professional chefs I’ve learnt ‘Salt Responsibility’ If used properly it enhances and draws out flavour and when working on savoury dishes constantly do the taste test. Remember it’s easier to add than subtract.…

I’m in love

October 3, 2014

Not sure how this happened but I found myself literally sucked towards the Aspinal concession of House Of Fraser Guildford. It was such a beautiful day Amelia and I had had lunch sitting outside which in England at this time of the year is a treat and then hit the shops. We were actually both looking for the same thing smart jeans. The ones you can dress up put a pair of high heels on and strut your stuff in…

Scotland

September 19, 2014

This is how much I love my Union Jack I sleep under it ! Thank God England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are sticking together. I see us like a big family who have our squabbles but are always home for Christmas. We scream shout sometimes hurl around terrible harsh accusations but look what happens if outsiders try to join in or penetrate our island we come together like glue, standing firm as we’ve done for 300 years. Lets hope…

Hair today more tomorrow…

September 15, 2014

Over the years I’ve thanked the angels for giving me a good head of hair,  mainly because it hides my not-so-attractive ears and my flat head! It comes from the Turner side of the family; my Dad, at the age of 82, is still the proud owner of what my Mum would call ‘a good mop’. However, when faced with sustained stress what was once my crowning glory was dull, lifeless and literally breaking off. I tried to ignore it…
