Mmmm… Meringues!

April 29, 2012

Yummi, these meringues are for me the perfect consistency – hard on the outside with a soft centre. Often shop bought ones will be completely dry all the way through and virtually tasteless due to the fact they are easier to store and have a longer shelf life. The recipe I’m going to give you which I begged a chef for makes 10. I am also quite generous with my dollops I use a large serving spoon to whack out the mixture.…

Flowery Food

April 29, 2012

Isn’t this the prettiest plate of food to be put in front of you? Well I thought so which is why I had to take a photo before eating it! I was having Lunch at ‘The Petersham Nurseries’ in Richmond with some friends. It is an amazing place. Brad and Angelina have moved into the house next door and the nurseries have been plundered to make their new home look very English and, I would imagine, stunning. If you want to add colour to…

Lucy’s lovely biscuits!

April 28, 2012

I love, love, love biscuits! All my friends know I can’t drink tea or coffee without the naughty little round thing… But how would I cope if I had a food allergy? Thankfully I don’t but so many people do. Dr Lucy Gibney discovered her child had severe food allergies and not able to eat his favourite cookies she set about developing a delicious alternative. Dr Lucy’s cookies are gluten, egg, milk, pea and tree nut free. Opera babes

April 18, 2012

I first met ‘Opera Babe’  Rebecca Knight in 1991 when we were cast in the Winchester Theatre production of Cinderella… I was Cinders and Rebecca playedPrince Charming. I know very little about singing but I do know an amazing voice when I hear one and Rebecca’s is that – a clear, crisp, pure voice that makes you stop in your tracks. If you would like to hear her along with her singing partner Karen England their 3rd album ‘Silent Noon’ is out this month. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silent-Noon-OperaBabes/dp/B007LYG9LC…

What’s really on the box. I spent a week finding out

April 9, 2012

As a recent Guest TV Critic for the Sunday Mirror, my mission, should I choose to accept it was to sit down, switch on and absorb myself in all the latest television programmes. And feedback what I thought. Of course I accepted. I never get enough time to catch up on all my favourite programmes, so this time I simply had no excuse not to. From soaps to sewing and reality shows to chat shows.. What a week. It brought…

The hunt Is on!

April 4, 2012

A few shots from last year’s Easter Egg hunt as this year’s hasn’t happened yet. The children are my two Goddaughters Amber and Tilly and their sisters Sasha and Flora. You can spend hours and lots of money sorting out a hunt but frankly at this age it’s the thrill of the chase as the amount of eggs are never going to be all eaten (surely?!). I buy loads of cheap supermarket eggs so there are plenty to be found but the bank…

Coals to Newcastle…

April 2, 2012

I must be the only person who bought 7 Lindt Golden Bunnies, packed then in straw and IKEA cardboard eggs and took them all the way back to their homeland through Geneva Airport for Easter Sunday. Coals to Newcastle?!…
